Psalms

These psalm settings are suitable for community SATB choirs. Neo-baroque in style, some of these psalms settings feature passages to be sung in speech-rhythm juxtaposed with cadences in measured-rhythm (as can be seen in the sample of Psalm 122). 

Other psalm settings are entirely measured (as can be seen in the two samples of Psalms 25 and 80).

These psalm settings were written during my tenure as Director of Music for the Auckland Catholic Schola; they were written in Renaissance and Baroque styles to match the choir's repertoire.

Each psalm comes with a "response": as part of a liturgy, the response can be first sung by a cantor, then by all, then after each choral verse.
